About Klose and these terms
Klose is operated by Klose By, Inc., a Delaware corporation. These draft Terms of Use describe the rules for using Klose. Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled, and our community rules and safety tips provide practical guidance.
Klose lets eligible adults discover nearby people, signal privately, form mutual matches and chat. Availability and features may change during testing and before launch.
Who can use Klose
You must be at least 18 years old, be located in the United States and be legally able to agree to these terms. Use only one account per person. Provide an accurate birth date, use a phone number you control, and do not create an account for someone else or return under another account after a ban.
You may use a first name or nickname and choose whether it is displayed. Your required profile photo must be a real photo of you with exactly one clear, recognizable human face. Do not use another person’s photo, a fake profile, a cartoon, or a photo of a screen or printed picture. Hats and sunglasses are allowed if your face remains recognizable.
You are responsible for keeping your phone, verification codes and account access secure. Do not share verification codes. Contact support if you suspect someone is using your account.
Community rules
Treat people with respect and accept their boundaries. Do not:
- Harass, threaten, stalk, intimidate, coerce or repeatedly contact someone who is not interested.
- Post nudity, sexual exploitation, explicit sexual content, violent content, or content involving minors.
- Use hate speech, slurs, discriminatory abuse or encouragement of violence.
- Impersonate someone, misrepresent your age, operate fake accounts, scam others or request money deceptively.
- Send spam, unwanted commercial promotions, malicious links or unlawful material.
- Share another person’s private information or intimate content without their consent.
- Scrape profiles, track people, bypass filters or blocks, defeat usage limits, misuse reports, or attempt unauthorized access.
- Use the service for illegal activity or exploit it in a way that harms another person.
You are responsible for content you submit. You must have the rights and permissions needed to upload a photo or other material.
Your content and automated checks
You keep ownership of content you provide. You give Klose a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, transmit and display it as needed to operate and protect the service, including use of service providers and the visibility choices you make. This does not give other users permission to misuse your content.
Photos and names go through automated content screening. Photos also go through a check for one clear face in a real photo. These service-provider checks are for safety and quality—not to identify you or create a face template. Uploading after the in-app notice gives consent to that processing, as explained in the Privacy Policy. A failed service call keeps the photo pending rather than approving it.
Screening can make mistakes. Approval or a badge does not prove someone’s identity, age, intentions or safety. We may reject or remove content or require a new photo. Contact support if you believe a decision is mistaken.
Your interactions and safety
Klose does not guarantee a match, response, compatible partner, accurate profile or safe interaction. Nearby discovery does not establish that someone is available, interested or trustworthy. A signal or match is not consent to physical contact, sexual activity or further communication.
Use your own judgment. Meet in a public place, tell a trusted person where you are going, arrange your own transportation, protect personal and financial information, and leave if you feel uncomfortable. Read the safety guide.
Use the in-app tools to block and report concerns. Klose is not an emergency service. If you are in immediate danger in the United States, call 911.
Moderation, restrictions and account deletion
We may review reports, remove photos or content, hide profiles, restrict access or ban accounts for rule violations, safety concerns or misuse. Underage reports and reports from three different people within 24 hours automatically hide a profile pending review. Authorized administrators can review reported profiles and limited linked chat context. Administrative actions are logged.
Blocking ends any match, removes signals and the recent encounter between the accounts, and hides the accounts from each other. Unblocking does not restore an old match or chat. Unmatching removes the match and chat from both users’ views. Neither action guarantees deletion of every retained record or another person’s copies.
You can request review of a restriction by emailing support@joinklose.com. You may delete your account in Profile → Settings → Delete account, confirming with a fresh phone code. Deletion and limited safety-record retention are described in the Privacy Policy.
Service availability and disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, Klose is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, continuous availability, or that every harmful or inaccurate profile will be detected.
We may change, suspend or discontinue features or service. Nothing in these terms removes a warranty or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Klose By, Inc. will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from use of the service, including lost profits or loss of data. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims arising from the service is limited to US$100.
These limits do not apply where prohibited by law and do not limit liability that cannot lawfully be limited. You retain any mandatory legal rights.
Governing law and contact
Subject to mandatory protections of applicable law, these terms are governed by Delaware law, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Contact us about a concern at support@joinklose.com.
We may update these terms as Klose develops. We will update the date and provide notice or obtain consent when required by law.
